Always look for a clear delivery timeline (when you get your gallery), how many edited images are included, what happens if your photographer is sick, and how rescheduling or cancellation fees work. If something feels vague, ask for it in writing.

For photographers: protect yourself with a clear backup plan (second shooter or associate), limit of liability language, and who owns the copyright vs. print rights. For couples: make sure you understand exactly what "8 hours of coverage" actually covers.
